Happy Eostre?

Eostre (pron East-ra) was the Anglo-Saxon goddess of the dawn, from whom "East" (where the sun rises) and "Easter" got its name - as the fertility goddess of the Northern European peoples, her legend was manipulated by the invading Romans - newly Christianised, they merged Eostre's spring legend to coincide with the time of Christ's resurrection.
we spent our Eostre Weekend at the Burningman Bunny Jam event. I think this has become my favourite party of the year, because it is just so fun and snuggly. Everyone wears bunny suits and ears, and you just can't help smiling all night... A big ol' sexy vibe from everyone there doesn't hurt either.

Ursula spent the night at her cousin Emilies (thanks Jan!) and we had the annual egg hunt and some great and well needed coffee on Sunday morning.

Playin' hookie with Dad.

Some days, when the sun is bright and the motivation dull, the car can't seem to make it all the way to Ursula's school.
These are days that will never return, precious moments that we will both treasure forever.
Here are some shots from a couple of our latest outings.

This was at the zoo with Ursula's pal Gillian.

And finally at the local fun fair.

Sorry to sound a bit sugary, but I love being "Dad".

Calling all Vodka drinking Scotsmen.

DPW (Department of Public Works) are a sunbaked and scabby crowd of practical mechanical genius that build Burningmans Black Rock City.

They have come up with a way of passing cheap shitty vodka through a Britta water filter a number of times to create drinkable vodka with noticeably fewer hangover effects... Nobel Prize?

For empirical proof, see:-

The other huge DPW contribution to Western boozing civilisation is, of course, the world famous Johnny on the Spot Cocktail.

JOTS cocktail
Blue Gatorade
Donation Vodka- serve in glass with 4 inch tootsie roll
Use a square of toilet paper as a coaster...
Serve with a shot of hard lemonade..... pour in glass....
blue turns green.....
tastes like shit.......
put the seat down....

Monsters in Oakland.

Ursula and three of her friends went to the Walt Disney on ice performance last night of Monsters Inc. at the Oakland Coliseum .

It was breathtaking!!

I have been to many Raiders games, and they come nowhere close to the level of noise generated by 20,000 screaming kids.

This was Ursula, 0.25 seconds after seeing Micky Mouse for the first time.
